Salary: £95-£120 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

Aspire People is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or an accomplished Level 3 Teaching Assistant with strong phonics intervention experience to join a welcoming primary school in North Liverpool from September 2026.

You will play a key role in improving pupils' confidence, reading ability, and overall progress through targeted phonics and literacy interventions.

The Role

As a HLTA, you will:
* Deliver engaging phonics and literacy interventions to small groups of pupils.
* Lead structured intervention sessions independently, supporting children with a range of learning needs and abilities.
* Use evidence-based phonics programmes, such as Read Write Inc. or similar, to close learning gaps and accelerate progress.
* Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to plan, monitor, and evaluate pupil progress.
* Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where every child can thrive.
* Provide regular feedback to staff and pupils, helping to celebrate success and identify next steps.
* Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and a love of learning.
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who have:
* HLTA status, or a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification with proven experience delivering interventions.
* Excellent knowledge of phonics, with experience using Read Write Inc. or another recognised phonics programme.
* Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with varying learning needs.
* The confidence to lead intervention groups independently and use initiative.
* Strong communication and organisational skills, with a flexible and proactive approach.
* A genuine passion for helping children develop their literacy skills and confidence.
* Two professional references.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
