Duration: 3 Months

Working Pattern: 50% on-site 50% Home working

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Procurement Manager to join Aviva on an initial 6-month contract, supporting strategic procurement activity across a portfolio of categories, sub-categories and suppliers.

A bit about the job

We're looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to develop and deliver effective sourcing and contracting strategies that provide innovative, commercially beneficial solutions for the business.

You'll be responsible for managing end-to-end sourcing activity, including RFX/RFP processes, supplier negotiations and contracting, while ensuring compliance with Aviva's procurement policies, governance and minimum standards.

The role will involve working closely with stakeholders and suppliers to understand business requirements, manage commercial projects and implement procurement strategies successfully. You'll also support supplier onboarding and exit, change management, supplier performance and the resolution of ongoing commercial issues or disputes.

This is a varied role requiring strong project and change management skills, commercial awareness and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience working within a strategic procurement or category management environment.
  • Strong experience delivering end-to-end sourcing and procurement projects.
  • Experience managing RFX/RFP processes, supplier negotiations and contract negotiations.
  • Strong understanding of category management, procurement governance, risk and compliance.
  • Experience developing and implementing sourcing and contracting strategies.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to identify opportunities to deliver value.
  • Proven project and change management experience, with the ability to manage complex projects through to successful completion.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, including onboarding, exit, change requests and supplier disputes.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and anticipate future procurement needs over a 1-3 year horizon.
  • Comfortable working with procurement systems, processes and governance frameworks.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to act as a role model for best-practice procurement.

Ideal Background

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Procurement Manager, Strategic Sourcing Manager or Category Manager with a strong track record of delivering complex procurement projects within a large, corporate or regulated organisation.

Experience operating in a highly governed environment, with strong stakeholder engagement, commercial negotiation and change management skills, would be particularly beneficial.

We're inclusive and welcome everyone - we want applications from all backgrounds and experiences. Excited but not sure you tick every box? Even if you don't, we would still encourage you to apply.

We also consider all forms of flexible working, including part time and job shares.

We flex locations, hours and working patterns to suit our customers, business, and you. Most of our people are smart working - spending at least 50% of their time in our offices every week - combining the benefits of flexibility with time together with colleagues.
