Toolmaker Based in Tipton Permanent - Up to £45000 basic + benefits

We are seeking an experienced toolmaker to join a highly skilled machining workshop based in Tipton.

The company are a precision manufacturing business who are growing rapidly and looking to add a toolmaker to their expanding team.

A toolmaker is a highly skilled role, being a key element and lead in the design and manufacture of machining components including CNC jigs, fixtures and press tooling. The successful candidate must be a time-served apprentice with proven expertise in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of high-precision tools, jigs, fixtures, and press tools. This role is critical in supporting efficient, accurate, and repeatable production processes across CNC machining and pressing operations.

Key Responsibilities of a toolmaker:

· Design, manufacture, and assemble precision CNC jigs and fixtures for milling, turning, and multi-axis operations.

· Design, manufacture, repair, and maintain press tools (including progression, blanking, forming, piercing, and compound tools).

· Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications to produce tooling to tight tolerances.

· Operate and program CNC machines (mills, lathes, and grinders) for toolmaking purposes.

· Modify, refurbish, and maintain existing jigs, fixtures, and press tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

· Collaborate with production, CNC machinists, press operators, and design engineers to develop and optimise tooling solutions that improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.
