We operate across multiple sectors, including defence, energy, and health. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Operational Analysis & Data Science team as we go through our next phase of growth,The Role:As a Senior Data Science Consultant, your role will be crucial in delivering informed, client-focused decision support across a diverse range of industries, including the UK MOD. You'll participate in projects that demand a keen ability to assess, analyse, and meet client-specific needs.You willplay a major role in developing and implementing Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)solutions for our clients,along with providing key advice around innovation and new techniquesto stakeholders.You will be designing solutions for complex challenges and will integrate code with software engineers.Responsibilities will include:Leading and delivering technical consulting projects.Developing and delivering AI / ML solutions using a range of techniques (ML, NLP, LLMs, etc.)to tackle real world problems, applyingtools and techniques,and developing novel approaches where required.Building new relationships and maintainingcurrent customerrelationships.Expertise Required:We are looking for a range of experience:SeniorData Scientist: 5+ years experience, includingtaking AI/ML projects into production.About You:The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following attributes:EssentialAbility to understand,describeand applya range of data science techniquesto real world problems.Experience in managing data and implementing data science processes.Experience in translating customer requirements intotechnical requirements and development objectives.Pythonexpertisecovering standard data sciencelibraries (NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, Scikit-learn,PyTorch, etc),web frameworks (Flask or FastAPI) and visualisation(Dash,Plotly,&Streamlit).Proficient inSQL.Working with unstructured dataBuilding customer and stakeholder relationships.Supporting and leading authoring of technical reports and presenting to customers.Be willing to travel across UK and comfortable to work away fromhomefor periods of time.Software engineering principles, git, docker, TTDDesirable:Experienceworkingwithsecure,air-gapped systemsWed love you to bring a strong STEM / computing background.Knowledge and understanding of UK Defence.Experience in one or more of the following technical disciplines:LLMs, RAG,Agentic AI(e.g. LangGraph).Computer Vision.AI for audio and speech.What we offerWe offer a combination of mentoring and internal and external training opportunities, with specialist sector organisations and inhouse courses.
