LANXESS is a diverse business with a wide variety of opportunities and are always looking to develop people within our organisation who are up for the challenge.About the Role: Reporting to the Technical Manager, the EC&I Lead Engineer is responsible for Maintenance and Engineering standards across Electrical and Instrumentation technologies deployed on the Widnes manufacturing site. The role is the Responsible Site Engineer for HV & LV Electrical distribution and sub-distribution, Process Instrumentation, Lighting, Earthing and Lightning Protection, and infrastructure systems.The main responsibilities are to define the inspection, maintenance, and asset management strategies, ensuring these activities are suitable and sufficient to enhance reliability, compliance, and process & occupational safety performance. Delivering these site and corporate targets will involve partnering with departmental, site, corporate and contract partners as appropriate. It also requires working closely with the Maintenance Planners and Supervisors to ensure that effective maintenance plans are in place. Additionally, the EC&I Lead Engineer will control assigned projects and maintenance contracts within budgeted performance and in accordance with agreed plans.The ideal candidate:You will be an experienced Engineer with recognised Electrical Engineering qualifications to degree level or alternative routes such as a recognised apprenticeship plus relevant experience demonstrating suitably qualified and experienced status.You will be approachable, with good people skills and a passion for learning. A positive attitude and a commitment to developing self and others are key to this role. Ideally you will have previous upper tier COMAH experience. knowledge of the UK legislative framework for Electrical Systems and relevant technical & SHE standards:at Work Regulations, BS7671 & 2391 requirements are essentialEX01-EX06 trained and familiar with requirements of IEC60079 and DSEAR/ATEX 137 directiveand knowledge of Risk Assessment, COSHH and permit to work processes is essentialof maintaining and inspecting High Voltage switchgear and distribution networks, and / or experience of working closely with HV contract partnersof ageing electrical plant and management of obsolescencewith maintaining, troubleshooting and calibration of process instrumentationin leading the EC&I elements of small and medium-sized capital projectsholder responsibility, accountability, cost control managementuser of MS office, & CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
