Job Description

Maintenance Technician
Location: Bridgwater
Hours: Double days - 6am - 2pm/ 2pm - 10pm
Salary: £42,000 + benefits
Key Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician:
* Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all site machinery and infrastructure
* Respond rapidly to equipment breakdowns and implement effective solutions
* Support operations by resolving mechanical issues impacting production efficiency
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability and resolve complex faults
* Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and site procedures
* Complete actions from the Corrective Action Report (CAR) system
* Communicate maintenance plans and machine handovers with relevant departments
* Assist with commissioning, upgrades, and configuration of machinery and facilities
* Maintain detailed records of work completed, parts used, and fault analysis
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site
Key Skills of a Maintenance Technician:
* Time-served apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering
* Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance
* Proficient in fault finding and root cause analysis
* PC literate; experience with maintenance systems (e.g., CMMS)
* Effective communicator with strong problem-solving ability
* Able to work independently and as part of a team
* Familiarity with safe working practices, equipment design, and build
* Willingness to travel occasionally to supplier or partner sites if required
* Flexible, proactive, and accountable with strong initiative
