Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEND Support) - Croydon based Mainstream Primary School

Location: Croydon, London

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, Term-time Only

A Primary School in Croydon is looking for three Teaching Assistants to join their team. This school is an OUTSTANDING school with a highly supportive leadership team.

We are a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the heart of Southwark, seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team from September 2026. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support to a child with SEND (Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities), helping them thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a mainstream classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND, under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO

Assist with the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities

Foster a positive, nurturing relationship with the child to support their engagement and well-being

Monitor and record progress, feeding back to teachers and professionals as needed

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and the child's family

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children with SEND (in particular, Autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs is desirable)

A calm, caring and patient approach

A proactive attitude and the ability to adapt quickly to changing needs
