Waking Night Support Worker

Our Grappenhall Children's home, rated OFSTED outstanding, is located in the heart of Warrington, the home supports six children aged 7-18 with a diagnosis of autism and learning disabilities. The children that live in the home enjoy swimming, trips to local park and beaches as well as volunteering within the local community supporting food bank drives and cooking meals for Reach Out Liverpool. As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will help people feel safe settled and well supported throughout the night. You will lead by example, maintaining the highest standards of support and care offering calm guidance to colleagues and helping to maintain a caring positive environment. Your role will include checking on people supported at the home throughout the night, accurately recording anything important and responding to any changes or concerns. You will also develop strong relationships with the team and the people we support to ensure a calm, positive and reassuring environment.

What we're looking for:

Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable (waking night experience beneficial but not essential).

A care-related qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Health & Social Care or equivalent) is desirable.

Warm, person-centred approach with a strong focus on safeguarding, wellbeing and maintaining professional boundaries.

Calm, resilient and proactive with the ability to work independently overnight and respond appropriately in unexpected situations.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, ensuring accurate recording, confident lone working, and effective handover with the day care team.

£14.50 - £14.85 per hour – Waking Night (Unqualified)

£15.00 per hour – Waking Night (Qualified)
