Job Title: Automation Engineer
Location: Peterborough – Hybrid (Office 1-2 Days Per Week)
Salary: £50,000-£70,000 DOE
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8.30am-5pm

An opportunity has arisen for a Automation Engineer. In this role, you'll collaborate on applications and modules destined for industrial and factory settings, catering to esteemed global manufacturers. You will be deeply involved in projects, swiftly becoming an integral part of the team.
Role Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Collaborate within a development team or autonomously to enhance and maintain current software while also developing new software.
Conduct comprehensive testing of software, including automated unit and integration tests.
Evaluate customer requirements
Draft internal and external specification documents to precisely outline system functional requirements.
Document software solutions developed to facilitate support and future development, emphasising clear commentary and structured software.
Ensure compliance with pertinent health and safety regulations and quality standards.
Travel to customer sites in the UK and abroad to implement new software deployments.
Essential Skills/Experience Required:
Minimum BSc Higher Degree in Computer Science or related IT field with a focus on programming (consideration given to applicants with degrees in other disciplines but possess substantial commercial software experience).
Proficiency in integrating multiple programming languages.
Ability to interpret and articulate technical and complex information clearly to various audiences.
Possession of a full UK driving license.
Desired Skills/Experience:
Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM framework.
Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA
Experience in developing within virtualised environments.
Familiarity with Web Technologies such as ASP.Net, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Java etc
Robotics control
Knowledge of Docker
VB6/VBA
Entity Framework
