A fabulous opportunity to join a Midlands based leading manufacturer and supplier of pioneering heating and cooling solutions as a Technical Publications Author from their Birmingham HQ.
What will you do as Technical Author?
Work closely with the product and engineering teams, taking complex information to create, update and maintain technical documentation product ranges for OEM customers and Aftersales support teams.
Develop and maintain product technical manuals, installation guidelines, service schedules and bulletins, spare parts guides, and other technical support documentation for product ranges
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Advanced Product Development, Aftersales Service and Marketing to gather information and ensure accuracy of technical content
Research and interpret engineering drawings, models, schematics, and specifications to create comprehensive documentation suitable for product support in the field
Manage documentation revisions and updates to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices
Coordinate translation and localisation of technical publications for international markets
Standardise the format and content of our manuals and develop a comprehensive set of documentation
What do you need as Technical Author?
Proven experience as a Technical Writer or Technical Publications Author in the automotive industry, preferably within the commercial vehicle sector
Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a good understanding of engineering principles. Knowledge of refrigeration or air conditioning would be advantageous
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solid Works) and experience working with engineering drawings and schematics (design skills are not required for this role)
Qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Refrigerant) or Technical Writing related field would be beneficial.
