Assistant Store Manager – Convenience Retail

Brixton, South London | Up to £35,000 basic + benefits

We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join a well-established international convenience retail brand in Brixton.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, leading a team and making sure the store is running properly day to day. You’ll work closely with the Store Manager and play a key part in driving standards, sales and customer service.

The role

As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll be involved in all aspects of running the store, including:

* Supporting and motivating the team on a daily basis

* Helping to drive sales and achieve store targets

* Maintaining excellent customer service and store standards

* Managing stock, deliveries and availability

* Supporting with rotas, training and team development

* Taking responsibility for the store in the Store Manager’s absence

* Making sure company procedures around cash, security and compliance are followed

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have previous experience in convenience, grocery, supermarket or high-volume retail, with experience supervising or managing a team.

We’re looking for someone who is:

* Confident leading a team and setting the right example

* Commercially aware and comfortable working to targets

* Customer-focused and hands-on

* Organised, reliable and able to work at pace

* Keen to develop and progress within a growing international business

You don’t need to have worked for a major supermarket chain — the right attitude, leadership experience and retail background are just as important.
