Platform Engineer – Motability Operations Ltd
As a Platform Engineer in the Container Platform Team, you’ll play a key role in developing, improving, and supporting secure, scalable, and automated container platform services—primarily RedHat OpenShift on AWS. The platform is well‑established, and you’ll help ensure it continues to evolve in line with business needs and is consumed in a "Platform as a" model.
Responsibilities
Delivering and continually improving our OpenShift platforms on AWS
Ensuring platform performance, availability, security, and capacity meet business needs
Driving automation of platform operations and infrastructure delivery (IaC)
Supporting the migration and onboarding of services to the container platform
Maintaining up‑to‑date documentation of platform configuration and processes
Contributing to roadmap planning and prioritisation
Supporting business continuity through resilient platform design
About You
You’re a hands‑on engineer with a pragmatic mindset and a passion for cloud‑native technologies. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy solving complex problems with scalable solutions.
Qualifications
3+ years in platform engineering or similar roles
2+ years designing, building, configuring, and operating container platforms (OpenShift or Kubernetes)
Solid experience with public cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure)
Strong Linux knowledge, scripting skills, and significant experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and agile development practices
Understanding of enterprise architecture, networking, and distributed systems
Awareness of governance, compliance, and security best practices
