Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Test Engineer to join our Manchester team in the defence sector, focusing on runtime environments. The role is hybrid (2 days a week on site) and due to the nature of the defence industry will require successful applicant to be a sole British citizen eligible for security clearance
Main responsibilities:
Lead the software testing efforts, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Administer and manage Linux systems, specifically Redhat (RHEL) and CentOS.
Utilise containerisation technologies, particularly Kubernetes, to manage runtime environments.
Develop and maintain scripts using Python and Bash to automate processes and improve efficiency.
Conduct extensive manual testing to identify and resolve issues.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing processes.
Implement Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) practices where applicable.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and security protocols within the defence sector.
Qualifications
Skills, qualifications and experiences required:
5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
Proficiency in Linux administration (Redhat/RHEL) and CentOS).
Experience with containerisation technologies (Kubernetes).
Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
Extensive experience in manual testing.
Familiarity with automation testing (desirable).
Knowledge of Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) (desirable)
