Production Planner

Job Description

Climb Recruitment are proud to be working with a leading company in the Bredbury area

Role: Production Planner

Role Overview

The Production Planner will join a busy and fast‑paced production team, responsible for creating and managing job card routings and allocating work across multiple manufacturing stages. The role ensures efficient workflow, accurate documentation, and strong coordination between departments

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop route cards to ensure the most economical and efficient manufacturing methods, working closely with the Programming Department
  • Issue shop‑floor documentation in a timely manner via work‑to lists
  • Coordinate with Stores/Goods Inwards to ensure all materials and kits are available for manufacture and assembly
  • Control rework operations resulting from NCRs, updating route sheets where required
  • Participate in pre‑production meetings to determine optimal manufacturing methods
  • Support the Production Scheduler to ensure each work centre is effectively loaded
  • Provide costing and lead‑time support to the Sales Department to ensure accurate quotations

  • Comfortable working in a problem‑solving and decision‑making environment

Accountabilities & Performance Measures

  • Report directly to the Production Planning Lead
  • Produce shop‑floor documentation to required standards, efficiently and on time
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and follow the 5S programme
  • Demonstrate excellent timekeeping and attendance

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience scheduling CNC machining operations and external services is desirable but not essential
  • Experience working within an ERP/MRP system environment
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and schedules
  • Able to work independently under pressure
  • Fully IT‑proficient in commonly used business applications

Salary Negotiable DOE
