About the Role


Our client is seeking a highly analytical Process Simulation Engineer to join their innovative team, operating on a fully remote basis. You will be instrumental in developing, validating, and utilizing process models to optimize chemical processes, support design projects, and troubleshoot operational issues. This role demands a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles and expertise in advanced simulation software. You will collaborate closely with design engineers, operations specialists, and R&D personnel across the organization, providing critical insights derived from rigorous modeling and simulation. This position offers the perfect blend of technical challenge and the flexibility of remote work, enabling you to contribute significantly from anywhere.


Key Responsibilities



  • Develop dynamic and steady-state process models using industry-standard simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, UniSim).

  • Validate simulation models against plant data and experimental results to ensure accuracy and reliability.

  • Utilize simulation tools for process design, optimization, debottlenecking, and feasibility studies.

  • Perform sensitivity analyses and "what-if" scenarios to evaluate process performance under various conditions.

  • Support process safety studies, including hazard analysis and relief system design, through simulation.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate simulation results into design packages and operational improvements.


Requirements



  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering , or a Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in process simulation and modeling within the chemical or petrochemical industry.

  • Expert proficiency in Aspen Plus or similar process simulation software.

  • Strong foundation in chemical engineering fundamentals, including thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, and mass/heat transfer.

  • Experience with scripting or programming for simulation automation is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, essential for effective remote collaboration.
