Help Shape the Future of Renewable Energy Security
As Senior Security Engineer, you will play a key role in securing and modernising Operational Technology across a growing portfolio of renewable and flexible generation assets, including hydro, wind, solar, battery storage and gas generation.
With significant investment underway and increasing regulatory requirements, you will have the opportunity to influence security strategy, design future-state OT architectures, and help protect critical national infrastructure that keeps the UKs energy network running.
This is a highly visible role where you will work alongside engineering, OT and operational teams to deliver meaningful change, not simply maintain the status quo. The business is investing heavily in OT security, offering the chance to work with emerging technologies while helping shape how security is delivered across the estate.
What You Will Be Doing:
Design and implement secure OT architectures across renewable generation assets.
Lead security reviews and provide technical assurance for new operational technologies.
Manage and enhance industrial network security, including firewalls, segmentation and secure remote access.
Support OT vulnerability management, patching and lifecycle planning.
Work closely with Engineering, Control & Instrumentation and OT teams to securely deploy new systems.
Identify and mitigate cyber risks across SCADA, PLC, HMI and industrial control environments.
Support large-scale modernisation programmes, transforming legacy systems into secure, resilient platforms.
Contribute to regulatory compliance, cyber resilience and OT security standards across the organisation.
What We Are Looking For:
Experienced engineers from OT security, industrial networking, control systems, cyber security or critical infrastructure backgrounds.
You will ideally bring experience with:
OT or industrial control system security
IEC 62443
SCADA, PLCs and HMIs
Industrial networking and network segmentation
Enterprise or industrial firewalls
Vulnerability management and patching
Industrial protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC, Profinet or Ethernet/IP
Siemens, GE or similar control systems
Energy, utilities, manufacturing, oil & gas or other critical infrastructure environments
Why Join?
Up to £81,000 salary plus minimum 15% bonus
Opportunity to secure and modernise critical national infrastructure
Work across a diverse renewable energy portfolio
Influence the future OT security strategy and architecture
Exposure to major transformation and investment programmes
Flexible hybrid working with site travel
High-performing, growing team with genuine career progression opportunities
If you are looking for a role where you can make a tangible impact, shape OT security strategy and support the UKs transition to renewable energy, this is an exceptional opportunity.
