The Grove is a short Break Respite Service, supporting adults with learning and/or physical disabilities.

Responsibilities

1. 1 To provide support that meets the daily living and personal care needs of the guests staying at the service.
2. 2 To support the guests in undertaking activities and opportunities of their choice both within the service and in the community. Where guests are able to promote independence, let them choose meals and help in preparation of meals.
3. 3 To maintain records as required relating to the guests lives, service Safety at Work Act guidelines, and individual financial affairs.
4. 4 To fully familiarise yourself with care plans which in turn will enable you to meet the needs of the individual.
5. 5 To familiarise yourself with risk assessments relating to individuals and the service in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of all the staff and guests and to implement and contribute to the review of these.
6. 6 To liaise with external parties, carers and parents as required.
7. 7 To refer to the senior staff or manager in the event that managerial advice is essential to deal with an immediate situation.
8. 8 To support and work together with all members of the team to provide a friendly and open atmosphere thus enhancing the guest's stay.
9. 9 To participate in the homes keyworker system.
10. 10 To participate in all relevant training required.
11. 11 To be aware of company policies and procedures regarding Health and Safety and to have appropriate knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act guidelines.
12. 12 To report any accidents, untoward incidents and complaints to the Senior Staff or Manager.
13. 13 To maintain confidentiality relating to colleagues, guests and company policies and procedures.
14. 14 To undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the job.
