Job Title: Female Support Worker Location:Garstang, PR3 Job Type: Full time, Permanent, Days, nights and sleep ins available Pay: £28,000K per annum Shift and Schedule: 08:00-20:00 / 08:00-17:00 /17:00-23:00 / plus sleep then 07:00-08:00 / 20:00-08:00The RoleA fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Female Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting a 20-year-old female living with Cerebral Palsy in her own home in the Garstang area.This is a rewarding complex care role for someone enthusiastic, motivated, flexible and passionate about supporting a young person to maintain her independence, enjoy an active lifestyle and get the most out of everyday life.Our client enjoys getting out into the community, including shopping, going to the cinema and quiz nights, as well as spending time socialising with friends. She also enjoys indoor activities such as playing games with her younger brothers, pamper sessions and listening to music.Her days can include a range of therapy and rehabilitation activities, including hydrotherapy, using her movement harness and passive stretches.As well as supporting her with day-to-day activities, you will provide assistance with her personal care and clinical needs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as she uses alternative communication techniques but enjoys socialising and engaging with those around her. Client & RoleThis is a complex care package where the successful Support Worker will provide support with:PEG feeding and nutritionMedication administrationSeizure managementRespiratory carePersonal careContinence careMobility and physical managementSupporting therapy and rehabilitation programmesMaintaining a healthy sleep patternSupporting community activities and leisureDriving the client's adapted vehicleMaintaining a safe environment at home and in the communityCleaning and maintaining care equipmentSupporting hospital and therapy appointmentsCompleting daily records, medication records, timesheets and incident reportsLiaising with family members and other professionals where requiredYou will be fully trained in all aspects of the client's clinical care and will receive ongoing support and supervision from the management team.Salary & Benefits:Competitive salaryHoliday PayPensionOn-going trainingSupervision support from an established care teamRefer a friend scheme you can earn up to £500 per referral!The Successful Applicant will:Be Female, due to the personal care requirements of the role Hold a full and clean UK driving licence and have access to a vehicleHave previous experience working as a Support Worker or Healthcare AssistantHave experience with PEG feeding preferredHave experience in complex care and/or supporting individuals with physical disabilitiesHave excellent communication and interpersonal skillsBe confident working independentlyBe reliable, professional and able to maintain appropriate boundariesBe a non-smoker, in line with the client's preferenceBe willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS checkSome of our roles require drivers and male or female employees only.
