Maintenance EngineerSalary: £60,095 - £66,369 (plus benefits)Hours: 38 hours per weekLocation: Eastcroft Energy from Waste Facility, Nottingham, NG2 3JHAs a Maintenance Engineer at FCC Environment, you will manage, supervise, plan and coordinate the day-to-day electrical system works. You will help to maximise plant reliability, flexibility, availability and overall performance while maintaining high standards of quality, health, safety and environmental performance.You will also support site improvement projects, manage maintenance support agreements, play a key role in outage planning and provide cover for the Maintenance Manager when required.This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.Our promise to youCompetitive salary25 days’ annual leave, plus Bank HolidaysPension schemeLife insuranceKPI bonus schemeOn-the-job training and progressionRecognition schemeRefer a friend schemeFlexible benefits, including high street savings, cycle to work scheme, Gymflex membership and many more (where applicable)Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and the Best Doctors Service through our Wellbeing PlatformWhat will you be doing?Providing leadership and direction to the maintenance teamPlanning and coordinating daily electrical maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability and performanceManaging scheduled, preventative, planned and breakdown maintenance activitiesMaintaining, servicing and repairing plant equipment, ensuring accurate maintenance records are keptManaging contractors and reviewing risk assessments and method statements to ensure work is completed safelyLeading the development and review of risk assessments and safe working procedures for engineering and maintenance activitiesSupporting outage planning, scheduling and coordinationManaging maintenance and improvement projects across the siteSupporting the control of maintenance budgets in line with business plan requirementsCompleting staff appraisals and ensuring individual, team and business training needs are metPromoting teamwork, development and continuous improvement within the maintenance teamActing as the delegated authority for the Maintenance Manager when requiredSupporting the business outside normal working hours and adapting working patterns where necessaryWhat are we looking for?A time-served NVQ Electrical apprenticeshipCity & Guilds Parts 1 and 2, or an equivalent qualificationRelevant electrical regulations trainingExperience of working with 11kV systemsNEBOSH or IOSH qualification, with a strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirementsSCADA and PLC experienceKnowledge of thermal power plant processes, permit systems, safety systems, HV switching and switchgearExperience of reading and interpreting technical drawingsAt least five years’ power plant operations experience within a supervisory rolePrevious experience of managing and developing maintenance teamsStrong communication, interpersonal and motivational skillsThe ability to work independently, take responsibility and respond effectively during changing operational situationsA flexible, self-motivated and detail-focused approachAbout usWe are FCC Environment, one of the nation’s leading waste and resource management companies.
