Senior Site EngineerFull-Time Permanent OpportunityLocation: HarlowSalary: £55,000 - £70,000 (Dependent on Experience)OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to oversee dimensional control on site and ensure all works are delivered to the required technical standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in programme delivery, quality assurance, health and safety compliance, resource management, and the mentoring of junior engineering staff.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee dimensional control and ensure works are delivered to the highest technical standards.Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers in their day-to-day site duties and professional development.Assist with the effective delivery of project programmes, quality control processes, and health and safety requirements.Plan works thoroughly and develop safe systems of work appropriate to each project environment.Implement and monitor site-specific safe working procedures.Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.Plan and sequence site activities to achieve project milestones and programme objectives.Manage labour, plant, and materials resources efficiently while promoting a positive and productive working environment.Review designs to assess buildability and identify opportunities for improvement.Support senior management with project resource planning and budget control.Manage quality assurance processes to minimise defects and ensure right-first-time delivery.Provide technical support and guidance to both site-based and office-based teams.Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all operations.Key Stakeholder RelationshipsClientsMain ContractorsSubcontractorsSenior Management TeamContracts ManagersProject ManagersSite TeamsOffice-Based Support StaffCandidate RequirementsEssentialQualificationsDegree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation.ExperienceMinimum of 5 years post-chartership experience.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.Experience using robotic EDM equipment.Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.Personal AttributesProfessional and personable approach.Strong attention to detail.Reliable and punctual.Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.Other RequirementsEligibility to live and work in the UK.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Ability to work across active construction sites and uneven terrain.Strong numerical and analytical skills.DesirableSSSTS qualification.Experience within groundworks, civil engineering, basements, or structural construction projects.Previous experience in a similar senior engineering role.Team leadership or people management experience.Knowledge of laser-guided concrete screed systems.Full UK driving licence.Interest in mentoring and developing graduate engineers.PackageCompetitive salary of £55,000 - £70,000, dependent on experience.Full-time permanent position.Opportunity to work on a range of civil engineering and construction projects.Excellent career progression and professional development opportunities
