Location: Edinburgh

We are currently recruiting a Legal Director to head up the Private Client department for a small and well-established client. The successful candidate will ideally be 10+ years PQE and would already be managing a private client team or would be looking to take that step up.
Day-to-day of the role:
Prepare complex wills and handle the administration of high-value estates, including those with agricultural property, business interests, and assets located abroad.
Line-management responsibilities for a small team of solicitors, paralegals, and support staff.
Provide expert advice on all manner of trusts.
Manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision, ensuring an excellent service is delivered to clients.
Actively participate in business development activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Ideally 10+ years PQE with experience in Wills, Trusts, Succession and IHT Planning and Power of Attorney’s.
STEP Qualified.
Able to handle a diverse caseload largely unsupervised.
Proven ability to manage a private client team.
Strong commitment to service excellence.
Demonstrable experience in business development and a history of strong financial performance.
Excellent prioritisation, communication, and IT skills.
Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and manage client expectations.
Meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
