As an Engineer – Flexibility Schedule reporting into the Operations Manager – Flexibility you will be part of the System Flexibility team involved with delivering customer and network flexibility solutions to help develop and operate our network more efficiently.

What will you do?
•Develop standard approaches to the scheduling of customer and system flexibility, while also overseeing day-to-day operations of performance and network targets relating to flexibility.
•Interface internally to System Forecasting team to understand and develop processes to turn forecasting outputs into flex scheduling inputs.
•Interface internally to Commercial Flexibility team and externally to our Flexibility Service providers to understand and develop flexibility scheduling processes.
•Interface to our Control Operations team to understand broader operability constraints and develop flexibility dispatch processes that consider these.
•Drafting of flexibility scheduling and dispatch guidance for internal and external use, providing transparency to external service providers.
•Provide performance reports on the dispatch performance and highlight any risks or issues.
•Configure flexibility dispatch platforms to dispatch network flexibility as required.
Key Competencies
•Strong electricity networks technical experience and good understanding of flexibility services.
•Energy sector experience and knowledge of the decarbonisation energy transition.
•Strong written and spoken communication skills – clear, concise, engaging and persuasive.
•Experience drafting engineering policy documentation.
•Good time management skills and able to work on multitude of different tasks at any one time.
•Advanced IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
What qualifications and experience should you have?
•HNC, HND, degree, or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
•Relevant industry experience
•Full driving licence is desirable
