A leading Tier 1 main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Planner to support the delivery of major healthcare construction projects from its Wakefield operation.
This is a specialist planning opportunity for someone with recent hospital project experience, strong construction planning capability and proven Asta Powerproject experience.
Previous experience working on education projects is also required, although this does not need to be recent.
The Role
- You will be responsible for developing, managing and updating construction programmes across major building projects, working closely with project and site teams to ensure programmes remain realistic, achievable and properly controlled.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining detailed construction programmes.
- Working extensively with Asta Powerproject.
- Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential delays and risks.
- Supporting project teams with programme updates, reporting and mitigation planning.
- Working closely with project management, site, commercial, design and procurement teams.
- Reviewing sequencing, dependencies and key programme activities.
- Supporting recovery planning where projects move away from baseline.
- Attending progress and programme meetings and providing clear programme updates.
- Maintaining accurate programme information throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
Were looking for a Planner with:
- Proven experience working in a main contractor / construction environment.
- Recent experience planning hospital or major healthcare schemes.
- Previous education-sector project experience.
- Strong, practical Asta Powerproject experience.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and programme management.
- Experience working with project and site teams on complex building projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to analyse programme performance, identify risk and support corrective action.
