Job Description

Production Engineer - Braintree - Full Time - 3-Month Fixed Term Contract - £23 to £33 p/h

We are currently recruiting for a Production Engineer to join a well-established electrical manufacturing business based in Braintree. This is a full time, 3-month fixed term contract supporting the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of a semi-automated production line.

As a Production Engineer, you will take engineering responsibility for the reliable operation of the production line. You will provide technical support during breakdowns, diagnose faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support when equipment faults
Diagnose and rectify breakdowns efficiently
Use PLC diagnostics to investigate machine faults
Diagnose and repair pneumatic system faults
Carry out mechanical maintenance and fault-finding
Complete PPM and routine equipment inspections
Replace worn components and carry out adjustments
Support machine installation, commissioning and modificationsThe Ideal Candidate

Previous experience in a Production Engineering, Maintenance Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role
Strong practical fault-finding skills across electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems
Experience with PLC-controlled machinery and PLC diagnostics
Ability to read electrical schematics and pneumatic diagrams
Experience maintaining automated or semi-automated production equipment
Good understanding of sensors, actuators, motors, solenoid valves, relays, contactors and safety circuitsDesirable

Electrical/electronic manufacturing experience
Experience with MCBs, circuit protection devices, switchgear or similar products
Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron or similar PLC experience
HMI and industrial automation experience
Servo drives, variable-speed drives or motion-control knowledge
Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification, apprenticeship, HNC/HND, NVQ or equivalent practical experienceWhat's On Offer

Monday to Thursday: 7:25am - 4:30pm
