Job Description The Role
We are looking for a junior to mid-ranking corporate lawyer (minimum 2 – 3 years qualified) to assist with the legal work required to implement the tax advice provided by MSA Law and its sister company, Signature Tax (part of AMS Group).
The successful candidate will work alongside the firm’s corporate partner and the firm’s tax lawyers and other tax advisers and professionals in the wider group.

MSA Law is a specialist tax law firm focusing on advice to companies, owner-managed businesses, and the individuals behind them on business tax issues, in particular those associated with organisational change and business succession.
MSA Law was established 11 years ago by Bernard McIlroy and Fiona Sutherland, two very experienced partner-level individuals with big firm backgrounds who decided that they wanted to offer tax legal services outside the traditional structure and confines of a large commercial law firm.
What You'll Be Doing
Advising on the company law implications of re-organisations, capital reductions and demergers, family investment companies, joint ventures and shareholder arrangements, growth shares and business succession planning
Drafting of legal documents
Occasional M&A work
The role will include supervising and training more junior lawyers as we look to grow the team
The role provides a clear career pathway and realistic prospect of career progression
This role is an opportunity to work as part of an integrated advisory service
The candidate will not be required to undertake any external business development work (unless they want to) but will be expected to develop their network within the wider group
The role is flexible – whilst we would prefer someone to join us on a full-time basis, we will consider part-time
Who We'd Like to Hear From
Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE
Capable of managing own workload
High level of technical skills
Attention to detail and strong drafting skills
Excellent communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational skills, proactive with an ability to multi-task and prioritise.
Friendly and professional demeanour with a positive attitude
Task focused and self-managing
