We are looking for a General Maintenance Technician to join our factory Maintenance team and support the smooth running of our production site. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will help maintain, repair and improve factory equipment, plant machinery and general site facilities.
The role would suit someone with practical maintenance experience in a factory, warehouse, production, facilities or engineering environment who enjoys variety and solving day-to-day maintenance issues.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out general maintenance, repairs and improvements across the factory and wider site.
Support the maintenance of static plant machinery, including conveyors, hydraulic presses and other production equipment.
Respond to breakdowns and help reduce production downtime.
Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks.
Diagnose basic mechanical, electrical and equipment faults.
Assist with installations, adjustments and minor modifications to equipment or work areas.
Carry out practical repair work, which may include basic fabrication, welding, soldering or general workshop tasks.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity and report recurring issues.
Work safely and support a clean, efficient and well-maintained factory environment.Skills and Experience
Previous hands-on maintenance experience in a factory, production, warehouse, facilities or engineering environment is essential.
Confident diagnosing faults and carrying out practical repairs on machinery, equipment or site facilities with minimal supervision.
Strong mechanical knowledge is required, with basic electrical fault-finding experience highly desirable.
Experience working with conveyors, hydraulic equipment, plant machinery, production equipment or similar factory systems is strongly preferred.
A confident, hands-on maintenance approach, with the ability to prioritise issues and keep production areas running safely and efficiently.
Comfortable taking ownership of routine maintenance tasks, breakdowns and general site repairs.
A reliable team player who can also work independently and use initiative when responding to maintenance issues.
Good communication skills, a proactive attitude and a strong focus on safe, practical problem solving
