Project Manager

Location: Glasgow or Perth (with regular site presence in the Western Isles)

We are supporting a major UK infrastructure organisation delivering a nationally significant energy programme as part of the transition to a low‑carbon future.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of a large‑scale High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) project. This role will focus on the execution of a major civil and building package within a complex, multi‑disciplinary environment.

The Role

Reporting to a Senior Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of a significant project package within a large infrastructure programme. This is a site‑focused role, requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple interfaces across contractors and stakeholders.

You will play a key role in ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of a major civil/building package within a large infrastructure project

Manage contractor performance and ensure alignment with programme objectives

Take full ownership of contract management, including change control and interface management

Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring effective execution through all phases

Drive a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements

Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, commercial, and delivery functions

Monitor project performance, risks, and costs, taking proactive action where required

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects in regulated environments.

You will bring:

Demonstrated experience delivering large‑scale civil or infrastructure projects (£100m+)

Strong knowledge of contract management frameworks such as NEC3 or similar

Experience managing contractors and complex project interfaces

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

A strong understanding of project governance, controls, and delivery processes

Experience working on HVDC, substations, or mission‑critical infrastructure

Background within energy, utilities, or major infrastructure projects
