We are currently seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join a small finance team of three on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time, and producing a precise Trial Balance each month within the group’s reporting deadlines.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
Maintain the General Ledger with high accuracy.
Perform month-end Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during reconciliations.
Produce an accurate Trial Balance at month-end within the group’s reporting deadlines.
Support the Management Accountant with month-end and year-end reporting.
Work with external auditors during the annual audit.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Part-qualified accountant with strong technical accounting skills or QBE.
Experience with General Ledger maintenance, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and month-end procedures.
Proven track record of working accurately with strong time management skills.
Ability to build good working relationships and possess excellent communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Word.
Ideally experience of using Business Central.
Housing Sector experience is desirable but not essential.
Communication and Working Relationships:
Collaborate closely with the Management Accountant and the Head of Business Partnering.
Work alongside the Assistant Accountant and engage with the Senior Leadership Team.
Interact with colleagues across the organisation.
Liaise with external and internal auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial reporting.
