Job Description

Job Purpose

The Agricultural Administrator provides administrative and organisational support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of farm operations. This role involves handling day-to-day office tasks, maintaining records, supporting compliance with agricultural regulations, and assisting management in coordinating farm activities.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records relating to crops, livestock, machinery, and supplies

Support with compliance documentation, including health and safety, environmental, and agricultural regulations

Process invoices, purchase orders, and maintain supplier and customer accounts

Coordinate staff rotas, timesheets, and payroll information

Arrange appointments, meetings, and training for staff where required

Maintain and update farm management systems and databases

Assist with grant applications, subsidy claims, and reporting requirements

Handle correspondence, phone calls, and enquiries professionally

Provide general administrative support to the farm manager and wider team

Requirements

Skills and Experience Required

Previous administrative experience (ideally within agriculture, farming, or a rural business)

Strong organisational and time-management skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with farm management software

Good written and verbal communication skills

Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping

Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

An understanding of agricultural operations and terminology (desirable, but training can be provided)
