Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join an impressive, private equity backed organisation at a pivotal stage in its journey. As Financial Controller, you will take on a highly visible and influential role, working across financial control, commercial insight, strategic planning and transformation.

With the backing and pace that comes with a private equity environment, you will have the opportunity to get close to the business, work with senior leaders, challenge and influence decision making, to support continued growth.

The role offers genuine breadth, combining ownership of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting with business partnering, commercial analysis, audit, financial modelling and systems improvement.

You will be encouraged to look beyond the numbers, identify opportunities and risks, and provide the insight that helps shape the future direction of the business.

The Role

As Financial Controller you will play a key role in shaping budgets, forecasts and multi year strategic plans alongside partnering with senior stakeholders across the business, providing challenge, insight and commercial support.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the month end process and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting
  • Managing the budgeting and forecasting process, including departmental budgets and longer term strategic planning
  • Partnering with senior leaders to understand performance, challenge assumptions and provide clarity around opportunities and risks
  • Translating financial information into meaningful commercial insight to support decision making
  • Managing cash flow forecasting and planning
  • Providing analysis of sales performance and reviewing financial models
  • Maintaining financial models to support future plans
  • Leading the year-end audit process and managing relationships with external auditors
  • Acting as a key escalation point for finance systems and reporting
  • Leading transformation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function

About You

Alongside technical capability, you will be commercially minded, confident working with senior stakeholders and able to communicate financial information in a clear and meaningful way.

You will ideally bring:

  • Financial accounting and management reporting experience
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • A track record of effective business partnering
  • The confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
  • A proactive approach to improving processes, systems and ways of working

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.
