Depending on the school, your day as a Teaching Assistant could involve supporting a whole class, working with intervention groups or providing additional support to pupils with SEND.

What You'll Do as a Teaching Assistant

Provide classroom support as a Teaching Assistant

Work alongside class teachers and support staff

Assist pupils with their learning

Support children with SEND and additional needs

Provide 1:1 or small group support where required

Assist with interventions as a Teaching Assistant

Encourage positive behaviour and participation

Help pupils develop confidence and independence
