Swindon | Full Time | £14.50 - £16.41 per hour | 12-Month ContractBrook Street are currently recruiting for an experienced Administrator to join a leading organisation operating within a highly regulated engineering and manufacturing environment.This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled administrator with strong technical documentation experience to play a key role in supporting engineering operations, ensuring documentation remains accurate, compliant, and audit ready.
The Role
As an Administrator, you will be responsible for providing high-level administrative and documentation support to an engineering operations team. You will work closely with engineers, subject matter experts, vendors, and contractors to maintain essential maintenance documentation and support the smooth running of daily operations.Key responsibilities include:
Documentation & Compliance
Drafting, formatting, reviewing and updating SOPs, work instructions, procedures, forms and technical documentsCoordinating document reviews and approval processesMaintaining accurate and inspection-ready documentationSupporting maintenance planning activities and extension requestsCreating and updating equipment certification and maintenance documentation
Purchasing & Administration
Raising and tracking purchase requisitionsObtaining supplier quotationsSupporting purchasing activities across the engineering functionProviding general administrative support to the team
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
Liaising with external suppliers and contractorsBooking vendors for site-specific trainingScheduling contractor visits and site accessEnsuring service reports, certificates and required documentation are received and filed appropriately
CMMS Administration
Managing maintenance records within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Supporting equipment data managementCreating maintenance procedures from supplier documentation and internal technical guidance
About You
We are looking for someone with:
Previous experience in administration, technical documentation, engineering support or maintenance supportStrong organisational and multitasking abilitiesExcellent written communication and technical writing skillsExceptional attention to detailConfidence working with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPointExperience working with document management or purchasing systems
Highly Desirable
Experience within a pharmaceutical, manufacturing, engineering, life sciences or other regulated environmentKnowledge of GMP and Good Documentation Practice (GDP)Experience supporting engineering or maintenance teamsPrevious exposure to CMMS systems
