Job Description

We are looking for a reliable, motivated and experienced Warehouse Operative / Shunter Driver to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a 40-hour per week, MondaySunday rota position. Weekend work will be required, along with flexibility to cover other shifts where necessary to meet the needs of the business.

Duties & Responsibilities

Your duties will mainly consist of:

Unloading and loading goods.

Receipt of trailers and containers.

Inspection of deliveries and checking off paperwork.

Identifying and resolving discrepancies.

Effectively dealing with drivers and maintaining professional communication.

Stripping down and building pallets, including wrapping, banding and preparing goods for loading.

Operating FLT equipment safely and efficiently.

Shunting trailers in the yard shunting experience is desirable.

Stock management and shelf-life control.

Carrying out physical checks of inventory and equipment.

Organising and maintaining stock within the warehouse.

Assisting with stocktakes when required.

Carrying out general warehouse housekeeping duties to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse.

Cleaning and tidying designated areas of the warehouse, machines, equipment, vehicles and/or products.

Ensuring equipment is properly charged, maintained and cared for.

Working safely and efficiently at all times.

Pre-checking all equipment prior to the commencement of each shift.

Reporting any equipment defects, Health & Safety hazards or other issues to line management.

Complying with all Company policies and procedures, including PPE requirements, Health & Safety procedures and holiday/absence processes.

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

Have 1+ years counterbalance experience .

Bendi experience is desirable.

Hold a Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence, preferably.

Shunting experience is desirable.

Be a quick thinker with the ability to prioritise their own workload.
