Job Description

Our client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic 1st Line IT Support Technician to join their growing IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in IT within a supportive environment where training, learning, and progression are actively encouraged.

As part of the IT team, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of business systems, providing technical assistance to users, and helping to ensure IT services run smoothly across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

Provide first-line technical support across a range of IT services, troubleshooting and resolving user issues.

Log, prioritise, and manage support requests through the IT ticketing system.

Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT team members when required.

Build, configure, repair, and deploy IT equipment including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

Install, maintain, and update operating systems and software applications.

Support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, endpoint management, remote access technologies, and basic networking environments.

Manage user accounts, passwords, access permissions, MFA, onboarding, and offboarding activities.

Maintain internal documentation and knowledge base articles.

Assist with identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.

Build positive working relationships with users at all levels of technical ability.

Participate in occasional Saturday morning support cover and out-of-hours work when required.

Travel to multiple sites across the UK as necessary.

Essential Skills & Experience

Degree in IT or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.

Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.

Awareness of cybersecurity best practices.

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Genuine interest in technology and willingness to learn.

Strong organisational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills

Experience using IT ticketing systems and remote support tools.

Knowledge of hardware deployment and network cabling.

Understanding of backup and disaster recovery procedures.

Basic Linux operating system knowledge.

Exposure to cloud-based technologies.
