An independently owned hotel located in Hythe Marina, on the edge of The New Forest, is looking for an experienced Continental Chef to join its kitchen team.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Continental Chef to support the day-to-day running of the kitchen and deliver consistently high-quality food for guests.

You will prepare and serve a range of continental dishes, breakfast, traditional favourites and Sunday roasts, while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and service.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Prepare and cook a variety of continental and traditional dishes to a consistently high standard.

2.

Prepare and deliver breakfast, Sunday roasts and daily menu items.

3.

Ensure food is presented attractively and consistently.

4.

Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards.

5.

Follow food safety, allergen and HACCP procedures.

6.

Assist with stock control, ordering and minimising food waste.

7.

Work effectively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.

8.

Maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen environment.

9.

Contribute ideas to improve the food offering and overall guest experience.

Requirements

1.

Proven experience as a Chef, preferably within a hotel, restaurant, pub or similar hospitality environment.

2.

Strong experience preparing continental cuisine and traditional British dishes.

3.

Experience with breakfast service and Sunday roasts is highly desirable.

4.

Good understanding of food hygiene, allergens and HACCP procedures.

5.

Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen while maintaining consistent quality.

6.

Reliable, organised and professional with a positive approach to teamwork.

7.

Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends.

8.

Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene certification, or willingness to obtain.

9.
