Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner Level 3 to join our small vibrant family-run early childhood education team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children's development, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment, and working collaboratively with colleagues and families. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about childcare and early years education to make a positive impact on young children's lives. 40 hours a week, shifts varying from 7.30-6.00pm.

Duties

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood curriculum standards.
  • Supervise and support children during play, meal times, rest periods, and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence, confidence, and social skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities for assessment and planning purposes.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to create a cohesive team environment focused on high-quality childcare.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding children's development, behaviour, and wellbeing.
  • Uphold health and safety policies, ensuring the environment remains clean, safe, and stimulating for children.
  • Assist in the organisation of nursery routines, outings, and special events as required.
  • Support the professional development of team members through sharing expertise and mentoring less experienced staff.

Experience

  • Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early years setting.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary.
  • Experience in managing behaviour positively and supporting children's individual needs.
