Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our warehouse and yard activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating counterbalance and reach trucks, ensuring the efficient movement of goods, and maintaining accurate records. Hourly Rate: £14.69
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00

Responsibilities

As a Forklift Operator, your primary duties will include:

Operating counterbalance and reach trucks to move goods safely and efficiently.
Loading and unloading lorries with precision and care.
Wrapping pallets to ensure goods are secure for transport.
Managing and maintaining accurate paperwork related to warehouse operations.
Sorting and coordinating drivers in the yard to ensure smooth logistics.
Providing cover for the door as required.
Upholding safety standards and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

Valid counterbalance and reach truck licenses.
Proven experience in forklift operation and warehouse logistics.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with drivers and team members.
A commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Day-to-Day

Your typical day will involve:

Starting the day by reviewing the schedule and prioritizing tasks.
Operating forklifts to load and unload goods from lorries.
Wrapping pallets and ensuring they are ready for dispatch.
Managing paperwork to track inventory and shipments accurately.
Coordinating with drivers in the yard to streamline operations.
Providing support at the door and assisting with any additional tasks as needed.
