Job Description

Position: Labourer / Hand Work Department Operative

Location: Fargate, Sheffield

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm (38 hours per week)

Pay Rate: £12.71 to £13.63 per hour, depending on experience

Start Date: Immediate start available, with a target start date of next Monday.

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Labourer to join our Hand Work Department. The successful candidate will be involved in the assembly and manufacture of various components using a range of hand tools and machinery within a busy production environment.

This role would suit someone with previous manufacturing, assembly, engineering, or production experience, although full training can be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble various components and products using hand tools.

Operate hand tools including:

Rivet guns

Hand drills

Other general assembly tools

Carry out basic spot welding operations.

Insert nuts, standoffs, and other fittings using specialist machinery.

Read and follow work instructions and production drawings where required.

Perform quality checks on completed work.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.

Adhere to all health and safety procedures.

Skills and Experience

Essential

Good practical and manual skills.

Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.

Good attention to detail.

Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable

Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, production, or assembly environment.

Experience using rivet guns, drills, spot welders, or similar equipment.

Experience operating machinery for inserting nuts, standoffs, or other fasteners.

What We Offer

Competitive pay rate of £12.71 to £13.63 per hour, depending on experience.

Four-day working week.
