Position Overview: As an integral member of the technology department, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining SQL-based solutions for management information (MI) and business intelligence (BI) purposes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design and optimize databases, extract and analyze data, and generate actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support MI and BI requirements.
Design, implement, and optimize databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into data warehouses or data marts.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical solutions.
Create and maintain documentation for database schemas, data flows, and ETL processes.
Develop and automate reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive business decisions.
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a SQL Developer, BI Developer, or similar roles in the insurtech or insurance industry would be a big plus.
Strong proficiency in SQL programming, including complex queries, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
Experience with data modelling, database design, and normalization principles.
Hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes, such as SSIS, Informatica, or similar.
Familiarity with BI tools and technologies, such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement (2 days in the Essex office) and a competitive salary of up to £70k, which is flexible for the right candidate. The comprehensive package includes a pension plan, health insurance and more.
