Senior Electronic EngineerLocation: Great YarmouthSalary: £60,000 + benefitsPlease note: Due to security clearance requirements, applicants must hold British Citizenship.Why this role?This is an opportunity to take a true technical ownership role in the design and development of high-reliability electronic systems used in aerospace and defence applications.You will work on advanced hybrid microelectronics and RF circuit designs, contributing directly to systems where performance, reliability, and precision are critical. The role combines hands‑on circuit design with technical leadership, giving you influence across both new product development and legacy system sustainment.If you enjoy solving complex engineering problems, working at the forefront of electronic design, and seeing your work deployed in demanding environments, this is a role where your expertise will have real impact.What you will be doingTaking technical ownership of RF circuit and subsystem design from concept through to validationDesigning and developing hybrid microelectronic circuits including chip‑and‑wire and chip‑and‑bond wire assembliesLeading schematic capture, circuit simulation, analysis, and verification activitiesSupporting both new product development and legacy product sustainmentImproving existing designs to enhance performance, reliability, and manufacturabilityWorking closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are robust and production‑readySelecting and evaluating components for high‑reliability and harsh environment applicationsSupporting obsolescence management and redesign activities where requiredContributing to design reviews and technical sign‑off processesInvestigating technical issues and leading root cause analysis where neededWorking collaboratively with suppliers and procurement on component and technical challengesEnsuring compliance with aerospace and defence standards and internal engineering processesSupporting and mentoring junior engineers within the teamWhat we are looking forWe are looking for someone who is confident operating as a senior technical engineer and who enjoys working across the full design lifecycle.You will likely bring:Degree (BEng or MEng) in Electronic Engineering or related discipline5+ years’ experience in aerospace, defence, or high‑reliability electronicsStrong analogue and/or mixed‑signal circuit design experienceHands‑on experience with hybrid microelectronics (chip‑and‑wire / chip‑and‑bond wire, die attach, wire bonding)Experience working on both new designs and legacy/sustaining engineeringStrong understanding of electronic components and lifecycle considerationsSkills and experience that will help you succeedTechnical strengthRF and analogue circuit design experienceCircuit simulation, analysis, and validationDesign for manufacturability and robust production designComponent selection for high‑reliability environmentsStructured problem solving and failure analysisApproach to workStrong attention to detail with a methodical engineering approachAbility to balance performance, cost, and manufacturabilityAwareness of lifecycle and obsolescence challenges in designCollaboration and leadershipComfortable working across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teamsClear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersNatural mentor to junior engineers with a collaborative mindsetTakes ownership of technical decisions and outcomes
