Compliance Manager

Job Description

Compliance Manager – Southampton

We’re working with an international professional services firm to hire a Compliance Manager for their Southampton office.

In this role, you’ll support the Head of Compliance in ensuring the organisation meets its AML/CFT and sanctions obligations across client take‑on, periodic reviews and wider regulatory activity. You’ll act as a subject matter expert for onboarding and compliance queries, build strong working relationships across multiple jurisdictions, and play a key role in identifying risk areas, shaping improvements and supporting ongoing monitoring, audit and project work.

Qualifications

  • At least five years’ experience in a similar compliance role, ideally in financial services or legal practice.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT legislation, sanctions regimes and risk‑based CDD processes.
  • Relevant professional qualification such as CAMS or ICA is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expert onboarding support to partners and fee earners and advising on AML/CFT queries.
  • Supporting the Bermuda onboarding team and wider compliance colleagues across jurisdictions.
  • Keeping up to date with regulatory developments and helping implement policy and process changes.
  • Identifying compliance risks, recommending solutions and guiding approved action plans.
  • Managing operational issues, tracking resolutions and supporting compliance monitoring outcomes.
  • Acting as an escalation point for high‑risk or complex matters requiring senior input.
  • Contributing to onboarding‑related projects, systems and process improvements.
  • Supporting regulatory submissions and external audit activity.

Work hours: 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
