Job Description

Ecommerce Manager

Location: Chester City Centre (Hybrid)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

About the Role

We're on the lookout for a driven ecommerce professional to take ownership of our online trading function. This is a business that's scaling fast, and we want someone who thrives on pace, isn't afraid to make decisions, and genuinely cares about the people they work with. Our culture is built on trust, autonomy and mutual support, and everyone here pulls in the same direction.

As a business, we've built our reputation on going above and beyond, whether that's for the customers who shop with us, the people we employ, or the communities we operate in. We're a tight team, and we're proud of it. In return for the right person's commitment, we offer genuine progression routes, a strong package, and the chance to actually influence how we work, not just execute someone else's plan.

Job Purpose

Reporting into senior leadership, the Ecommerce Manager will take full ownership of the online trading calendar, digital merchandising output, and the day-to-day running of the ecommerce function. You'll manage a small, dedicated team and act as the driving force behind how the business shows up online, balancing commercial delivery with operational rigour.

Key Responsibilities

People Management: Coach, mentor and manage a small ecommerce team, building a culture where people feel invested in outcomes and supported to grow.

Trading and Promotions: Own the trading calendar, planning promotional mechanics and campaign activity around seasonal moments, competitor movements and customer demand signals.

Commercial Analysis: Interrogate sales and customer data to spot patterns, flag risks early, and shape decisions on stock, pricing and promotional focus.

Buying Relationship: Act as the key link between ecommerce and buying, keeping product availability, pricing and range plans tightly aligned.

Digital Merchandising: Keep the site sharp, refreshing banners, rewriting product copy, and making sure every page pulls its weight commercially.

Marketing Coordination: Partner with the marketing function to squeeze maximum value from every channel, including emai...
