Job summary

We are seeking a forward-looking Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team. This role is central to driving August's financial strategies and supporting our ambitious growth plans. The CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping company strategy, leading financial operations, and ensuring robust financial health across our collections, our group companies and various strategic projects. You will work closely with our founders and COO and play an instrumental role in delivering on our long term vision.

Your key responsibilities will encompass :

Strategic Leadership:

Actively contribute to corporate strategy, focusing on financial health and expansion.

Lead critical financial initiatives, including capital structure decisions and comprehensive financial management.

Board Relations:

Engage with the Board of Directors in strategic discussions and property approvals.

Collaborate with the Head of Finance to prepare and present financial reports and forecasts at board meetings.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

Oversee long-term budgeting and financial forecasting.

Work with Financial Analysis & Planning (FA&P) and finance team to set and refine financial goals and metrics.

Risk Management:

Spearhead risk assessment and mitigation strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market dynamics.

Compliance and Governance:

Oversee compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and internal governance policies.

Technology and Process Innovation:

Champion the integration of advanced financial management technologies to enhance profitability and efficiency.

Guide the finance team in innovating and streamlining financial processes.

Team Leadership and Culture:

Direct a dynamic team, including a Head of Finance, Financial Controller, FA&P, and junior accountants.

Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous development within the finance department and across the company.

Executive Collaboration:

Regularly participate in core executive meetings, contributing to overarching business strategies.

Drive initiatives that enhance company culture and ensure alignment with August's strategic goals.

The person to fill this role will :

Proven experience as a CFO or in a similar senior financial role within a high-growth environment, preferably in real estate or consumer-facing industries.

Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing high-performance teams.

Excellent analytical, decision-making, and financial management skills.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of articulating complex financial information to stakeholders at all levels.

Adaptable and innovative thinker with a robust understanding of financial software and systems.

Hours and Package :

Full time contract: 40 hours, Monday to Friday

Location: Central London

Salary Package: market rate

Job Start: Q3/Q4

Working arrangement: hybrid (3 office days, 2 home days)
