Structural Engineer

OverviewThis is an opportunity to work on complex aerospace projects, contributing to structural analysis activities across metallic and composite aircraft structures. You will play a key role in delivering high quality engineering solutions while supporting and developing junior engineers within the team.Clearance requirement: Eligible for SC clearance and UK eyes onlyKey ResponsibilitiesCarrying out structural sizing and analysis for aircraft structures.Performing structural assessments using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and traditional hand calculations.Undertaking fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.Defining and delivering engineering analysis tasks for yourself and members of the wider team.Demonstrating that structural designs meet relevant certification and project requirements.Supporting the development and mentoring of less experienced engineers.Working closely with engineering colleagues, suppliers, customers and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.Developing efficient and effective engineering processes and working practices.Preparing and delivering technical reports and presentations for a range of audiences.Key SkillsDemonstrable experience working within a Design or Structures Engineering environment.Strong knowledge of aircraft structural analysis, including metallic and/or composite structures.Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and traditional structural calculations.Experience in areas such as structural sizing, fatigue or damage tolerance analysis.The ability to supervise, mentor and develop junior engineers.Inclusion statementOutsource UK is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
