Workshop Controller

Duties of a Workshop Controller:

• Oversee daily workshop operations including load management and capacity planning to maximise productivity
• Allocate work effectively according to technician skills and workload
• Monitor and improve workshop efficiency and utilisation during each shift
• Lead, motivate, and develop technicians through coaching and performance management
• Manage workflow to ensure smooth job progression and minimise delays
• Maintain high service quality standards and customer satisfaction
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards, warranty procedures, and health and safety regulations
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the workshop
• Build strong working relationships with the service team to optimise customer experience

Requirements of a Workshop Controller:

• Proven experience as a Workshop Controller within a franchised dealership environment
• Demonstrable record of improving workshop productivity and efficiency
• Strong understanding of workshop planning, labour management, and workflow optimisation
• Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to motivate and influence a team of technicians
• Knowledge of warranty processes and manufacturer systems is desirable
• Previous management or leadership qualifications are advantageous
• Customer-focused approach with strong commercial awareness
