Supplying high-quality machined components to a range of industries, this company offers a modern manufacturing environment, investment in technology, and genuine long-term career opportunities.The RoleAs a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for creating, developing and optimising CNC programs to support the manufacture of precision-engineered components. Working closely with the production and engineering teams, you will ensure programmes are efficient, accurate and capable of meeting customer quality requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesCreating and editing CNC programmes for a variety of machining centresSupporting the introduction of new products from design through to manufactureSelecting tooling, speeds and feeds to maximise machining efficiencyReading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specificationsTroubleshooting manufacturing and machining issuesSupporting machine set-up activities where requiredDriving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times and improve qualityEnsuring all work is carried out in line with quality and health & safety standardsAbout YouThe successful CNC Programmer will ideally have:Previous experience programming CNC machinery within a precision engineering environmentExperience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, Mazatrol or similar controlsStrong understanding of machining processes and cutting toolsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD dataExperience of working with tight tolerances and complex componentsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailA proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamWhat We OfferPermanent, full-time positionCompetitive salary dependent on experience25 days holiday 8 bank holidays Overtime available, paid at time and a half Supportive and collaborative working environmentCompany benefits packageApply NowIf you're an experienced CNC Programmer looking for your next challenge in Portsmouth, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today or contact Orion Electrotech Reading for more information.Due to the volume of vacancies we are supporting, we are unable to respond to every application individually.
