The Role:
As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the sourcing capabilities and requirements of the organisation. Collaborating with department managers, you will evaluate suppliers to find cost-effective and high-quality solutions for all products and services needed by the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with key stakeholders to understand their product and service needs.
Manage all procurement activities, including negotiating supplier agreements and tender management.
Delegate tasks and supervise the work of a small procurement team.
Lead and manage the procurement team, ensuring adherence to agreed service level agreements.
Provide direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement activities, making recommendations to leadership when necessary.
Foster strong relationships with stakeholders and supply chain partners to drive business improvements.
Develop robust policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation, in collaboration with Supply Chain Management.
Create an annual buying plan, reviewing and optimising the supply chain regularly.
Ensure the department is appropriately resourced to manage workload effectively.
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience in a similar role, with a focus on building and developing a supply chain within the relevant industry.
Recognised procurement accreditation is preferred.
Strong financial and numerical skills.
Attentive to detail with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent networking and negotiation skills.
Familiarity with supplier or third-party management software (advantageous).
Outstanding communication skills to establish and nurture internal and external relationships.
Willingness to travel to supplier sites.
Experience in people management.
Commercially aware and business oriented.
