Join the Synergy Shared Services Hub and help deliver one of the most significant transformations to Civil Service shared services in decades, supporting the modernisation of critical services used by hundreds of thousands of colleagues across government.
Our DWP Digital teams use fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives.
DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support and empower millions of people.
The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.
As a Data Engineer in the Synergy Shared Services Hub, you'll help deliver one of the most significant transformations to Civil Service shared services in decades.
You'll play a key role in developing and supporting reporting and analytics solutions that provide trusted insights to almost a quarter of a million users across multiple government departments.
Working with Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI/AIDP), Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) and other modern cloud technologies, you'll design, build and maintain reporting products, data pipelines, datasets and integrations that deliver trusted management information and actionable insights.
You'll collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate requirements into effective reporting solutions and support the delivery of scalable, reusable products. You'll also contribute across the full reporting development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, maintenance and continuous improvement.
Using your problem-solving skills and attention to detail, you'll help ensure data quality, reliability and performance, while applying engineering standards and testing practices throughout the development process.
As part of a supportive and inclusive team, you'll work alongside reporting and data professionals, share knowledge, embrace new technologies and help drive improvements that enhance services for colleagues and customers across government.
We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home (40%) and some time collaborating face to face in a hub (60%).
We offer competitive pay for this role of up to £54,813.
You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth over £12,876 per year.
A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time.
You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
