We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Winsford, working with children aged 5-6 years old. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young learners in a nurturing environment where learning is driven through play, exploration, and individualised support.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, helping them access learning activities and develop key life skills. The school follows a play-based approach to learning, creating engaging and meaningful experiences tailored to each child's needs.

The role will involve:

Supporting children aged 5-6 years with a range of SEND needs

Encouraging learning through play and interactive activities

Assisting with personal care, including changing nappies when required

Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours

Using de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies

Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team

What We're Looking For

A patient, caring, and enthusiastic individual

Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential

Confidence in supporting children with additional needs and complex behaviours

A resilient and positive attitude

Willingness to undertake personal care duties

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
