At RoBAT Ltd, part of the global Mycronic Group, we're looking for an experienced and hands-on Electronics Engineer to join our growing team in Macclesfield.

The Opportunity

As an Electronics Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing both new and existing products, working across the full product lifecycle from concept and design through to testing, manufacture and ongoing improvement.

This is a varied role where no two projects are the same. One day you could be developing new electronic systems and evaluating emerging technologies, the next you could be troubleshooting complex hardware challenges or building and testing prototypes.

You'll work closely with talented engineers across multiple disciplines and have the opportunity to influence products that are recognised as market-leading within a highly specialised global sector.

Most importantly, you'll have the freedom to contribute ideas, challenge convention and help shape the future direction of our products.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be involved in:

Designing and developing analogue and digital electronic systems for new products

Enhancing and improving existing products to increase performance, reliability and efficiency

Managing hardware developments in response to component obsolescence, regulatory requirements and cost optimisation initiatives

Creating schematics, PCB layouts and technical design documentation

Developing microcontroller-based solutions, including PIC firmware development

Researching and evaluating new technologies that could enhance future products

Building, testing and validating prototypes

Investigating and resolving complex technical issues

Collaborating with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful product delivery

Supporting continuous innovation across our product range

About You

We're looking for a practical, hands-on engineer who enjoys solving problems and is passionate about technology.

You will ideally have:

Experience in analogue and digital electronic design and development

Microcontroller development experience, including PIC firmware programming

Schematic capture and PCB design experience

Experience with high-speed impedance-controlled PCB design

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Experience repairing and troubleshooting complex electronic systems

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

A proactive, inquisitive approach and a genuine enthusiasm for engineering

It would be advantageous if you also have:

Previous experience using Altium Designer

Exposure to robotics, automation or electronic testing systems

Knowledge of Signal Integrity principles

Experience developing products for manufacturing environments
